um. when u set it up porportionally everything cancels out, leaving you with 1-cosA over 1+cosA, which then cancels out to one...

If he is "arrogant, snobbish and kind of cold" then why on earth do you want him? If the last thing you want to do is " boost his already huge ego.. " do not make the first move, ever! a typical range would be 60 to 80 amps. but this all depends on the type of starter (gear reduction vs direct drive). automatic or manual transmission (flywheel differ in number of teeth changes starter to flywheel gear ratio). quality of battery and condition / quality of battery cables. condition of engine itself and lubrication.
