How do the hypocritical religious right christians claim any moral authority?

I like being a hypocrite. Its true that I'm no better than anyone else, but at least I recognize and admit when I do wrong and have the courage to call others out when they do wrong. I would much rather be a hypocrite, who has ideals but fails to live up to them, than a moral relativist who just doesn't have any ideals at all.
