I just got an ipod nano 5th gen. what is that white thing that the ipod sits in? IS IT FOR A DOCKING STATION?

THAT'S THE OLY THING I GOT AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT FITS INTO SOMETHING...JUST WHAT? I HAVE NO IDEA. THANX
